Kojeon Antique: A Warehouse of Treasures

An Extraordinary Life

In 1989, my wife received word that her grandmother had passed away on the Korean island of Jeju. I learned then that she had been in the resistance during the Japanese occupation of Korea and became one of the country’s first female physicians. I thought her life would make an interesting story.
